Dear Sirs:

We were surprised and pleased with quick and thorough service from Piper Friday afternoon, 2 May.  We called another company first and were told they do not give weekend service unless it is an emergency.  To us this felt like an emergency – our son and daughter-in-law and two toddlers were flying in from an overseas trip in 36 hours and two circuits, impacting kitchen living room and garage door, were not working in their home.

My husband called Piper.  Enter your dispatcher, Marco, whom my husband said talked with him like he was the most important call he received all day!  Marco said he thought he might be able to help us but would have to call back.  In three minutes he did and said that a truck was in the South area, it would be at our kids’ home in about twenty minutes.  Sure enough, in twenty minutes, Dan walked through the door.  My husband hadn’t even made it over there yet so I attempted to explain to Dan what I thought was the problem.  First, I am an electrical idiot.  Second, I wasn’t sure what the problem was and was embarrassed he had to wait for Ron to come.  Dan didn’t do the look-at-my-watch-to-express-impatience routine.  He could have.  He set to work, moved piles of tied-up limbs stacked conveniently right under the ceiling hole in the garage to the attic.  Oh, yes, and the garage was dark because there was, well, you know, no electricity.

Frankly, we didn’t know what the service would cost, but were very pleased when Dan gave Ron the bill for services.  Just wanted to let you know how glad we are we stumbled across you listing in the yellow pages.  I have told three co-workers (and my sister-in-law in El Paso) about our good fortune to find you.  We commend you for having the good sense to hire folks like Marco and Dan, both with such good attitudes toward customer service - especially on a Friday afternoon.  We appreciate you!

Gentlemen:
 
Piper recently did some electrical work on our older Wheat Ridge Home, including upgrading the service and adding some new circuits.  The reason for my writing is to thank you for a wonderful job done.  We are very happy with the work, and the pricing was very competitive.  Mostly, I would like to call out the excellent service provided by the team leader, Joel Ebersole.
 
Joel was professional, polite and intelligent, and took the time to walk with me through the house before submitting the initial bid discussing all the issues in detail.  He wasn’t condescending, and was very clear without being either overly technical, or overly simplifying, in his explanations.  He wasn’t in a hurry, and even took the time after the first visit to discuss and revise the bid via email, and to come back the morning the work was to commence to make sure the journeymen were properly lined out.
 
Joel did not push or try to "sell" us on anything.  I noticed this right away in comparison to another company we also had do a bid, from whom I got the impression they were trying to scare me into ordering a lot of work on the basis of the older wiring posing a threat to safety.  The truth of the matter is, the existing wiring is not actually that old or bad, it’s just that we had added a new room and several appliances to the house, such that our load was beginning to outstrip the original 100-amp service.  And, a third company we considered sent out a master electrician who simply stood in the living room and insisted there was no way to really ascertain the scope of the project beforehand, and that he’d only agree to do it on a time and materials basis.
 
After the work was done, the city inspector was likewise complimentary of Piper, saying "they have worked hard to earn their good reputation."
 
... You have an asset in Joel Ebersole and I’m certain that is indicative of others at your company.  I hope this letter serves to help you appreciate that.
